We’ve noticed that for years many women have struggled to find their Prince Charming and have often felt that this part of their lives has eluded them. We also noticed there were some common denominators with women who are having difficulty finding the one.

Whether you’ve reached that point of saying “It will never happen for me,” or “I just wish someone could tell me what to do to get it right,” perhaps now is the time to be aware of these common pitfalls:

• Women don’t define what they want in their Prince Charming – they often take on whoever comes along.
• Women feel like they’ll make room for him in their lives when he shows up instead of focusing on preparing their lives to have both a great relationship AND a brilliant career.
• Women fill up their schedules to be busy and feel important and loved.
• Women were taught there is plenty of time to find romance. Focus on your career first and make sure you can take care of yourself.

So what can you do to avoid making theses mistakes?  If you are reading this thinking, “That’s me!”  Maybe it’s time for some helpful hints to steer you in the direction of how to really find Prince Charming. It’s not like years ago someone offered you a class like home economics or shop where you learned the do’s and don’ts for finding Prince Charming. But there are some easy tips to start working with to get this right so you can find him.  It’s still possible.  Here’s a few to get you started:

1)    Decide what qualities the men you date must have before you meet them.  This will make it easier to recognize whether the men you date are just one time dates or potentially so much more.

2)    Understand what’s important to you in a relationship and get clear about how you want to be treated in a romantic relationship. Remember: being vulnerable is good.  If you look like you don’t need or want him, in his eyes — you don’t.

3)    Pick a day on your weekly schedule that you leave open to do something new and meet new people.

4)    Look around your house.  Is it “boy friendly”?  Is there room for him in your house?  We are proud of you for taking care of yourself, being independent strong women and creating a great environment for you.  But is it just that — for you? Or would he find your home welcoming too?

These simple tips and techniques will help demystify how to find Prince Charming and start you on the steps to finally meeting him.

We know it’s been a long road.

It’s about to pay off.

Knowing your values will help you find your man faster. Maybe this is something you’ve never done before, never been asked about and quite frankly don’t know where to begin.  Start by identifying the top 5 qualities you value most.  Not sure how to identify these?  Look around at your relationships and your life. What’s makes these relationships so important to you?  These relationships and feelings will give you clues about what you value most. Some examples would be loyalty, honesty, community, contribution, health, love, the environment, creativity and whatever vaule you feel is important.

When you meet him, you can show him your list of values and ask him to share his with you.  Keep in mind that this may be the first time anyone has ever asked him about this, so be patient and thoughtful with how you respond to his comments and questions.

If this is the first time you’re discovering these for yourself, share your experience with him and let him know how valuable it is to know this about yourself.

Understanding what’s most important to each of you in a relationship can provide a solid foundation on which to build the relationship you want with your man.  When you have similar values, you’ll find that it’s easier to relate with one another because what’s important is important to both of you.

Now you know one of the big secrets behind determining whether he’s Mr. Right Now or Mr. Right.

Is it the summer of “fun and flings” or the summer of “find the one?”

What if you could decide right now that you were going to spend the summer meeting great men and having fun.  Then at the end of the summer your flings would be over and you’d go back to looking for the one.  Would you go for the “summer lovin’ had me a blast” from the movie, Grease?  If that is your ideal summer than do just that — have a blast.  Take a minute to think about that and then also think about when summer is over.  How would you feel?

What if instead you picked the summer of “find the one?”  As a result, at the end of the summer, you knew exactly what you wanted, and you were poised and primed and perfectly positioned to meet the one.  Chances are, all your preparation will pay off and instead of saying goodbye to a fling, you could be opening the doors to a long term relationship.

It all starts with you and simply deciding what you want.  One of the biggest reasons why people don’t get what they want is because they haven’t decided what they want.  They aren’t clear about what they want nor  have they defined their ideal relationship in clear details. So who do you want?  Mr. Right Now or Mr. Right.  It is truly up to you.

Whatever you decide, don’t settle for less.  You do have a choice.  Get clear about what you want, not what someone else wants for you. If you are still trying to decide we can help.
